The 2021 Bikini Edit

 The 2021 Bikini Edit

Nothing says summer like buying a new bikini! I'm sure if you live somewhere warm, you see Bikinis as a year round item, but in the UK (if you're anything like me) it gets pushed to the back of your closet in September and by the time you fish it out again next June it's time for an update! This year we are definitely seeing trends towards muted colours and textured fabrics - a big move away from the neon love island bikinis we've been seeing over the past few years.

Puff-Sleeve Bikini Top - £42
High Waist Cheeky Bottoms - £35

I LOVE this. I think we all know my love for puff sleeves by now. I can't imagine you'd be doing any real swimming in this bikini but it'd look just perfect on a sun lounger. The tie back detail on the top is just so well balanced, it really really works. It brings in two of this seasons big trends - the muted colour and the seersucker texture.

At £77 for the set it is definitely on the pricey side, especially if you're only going to get a couple of uses out of it this summer. It's such a shame it's such a high price point or I'd be all over it! I do think the price tag is valid though as it's a really well balanced look.

Ruffle Tie-Front Bikini Top - £16.90
High-Leg Bikini Bottom - £11.70

Abercrobies sister brand Hollister offers similar vibes at a smaller price point. While this bikini doesn't sing quite like the A&F one, at nearly £50 cheaper I can accept that!

The Olive colour and the smocking is right on trend and would look great on the beach or in the pool. Personally I find the added ruffles around the bottom of the band slightly too much, but what I love about the Hollister bikinis are how mix and match they are. There are 5 other bikini tops in this shade, all priced between £15 and £17, so you have the opportunity to swap them out.

Tie Cut-Out Swimsuit - £30

While not technically a bikini, I love this if you are looking for a little more coverage. I have a monki swimsuit that has lasted me years, so I can really recommend their quality.

Obviously the muted green tones are persisting with this one, but it also includes a fun little floral print. I really think there is so much to like with this swimsuit. It's definitely the most practical option if you want to actually swim, but without loosing any of the aesthetics. I think this is a great option for someone who is a little nervous of wearing a bikini out.

T Back Bikini Top - £29.99
High Waist Bikini Briefs - £24.99

It shouldn't be a surprise to anyone that something yellow made its way onto this list...

Yellow is a colour so many people are scared to wear, but this is such a muted shade and it's so on trend. The white pin stripes also really bring it back a little, and almost give it a textured effect. The addition of the T Back detailing on the top, gives it something a little different and really elevates this from what would be quite a standard bikini.

Studio is the higher their of Superdry stock so you can be assured that the bikini will be good quality, and worth the price tag.

High Triangle Bikini Top - £14.95
High Cut Bikini Bottoms - £11.95

This is another really great budget option, if you're looking for something in a slightly more fun colour.

While it is quite a standard bikini, it is bringing in that texture that is so on trend. It will look great sitting by the pool or taking a dip in the sea, without looking over the top.
