Patchwork Halter Top This DIY has been on my to-do list for months but I've never quite found the time. Thanks to a notification from the NHS Track and Trace app, I've suddenly found myself with a lot more time... so I finally gave this a go. All it took was 3 old T-Shirts, and a little bit of maths! I started by finding 3 old tops at the end of their life, that I could turn into something new! I chose to use one pink top and two whit ones, but you can use any colours you like - you could even have a go at tie dyeing some fabric! The first job was to cut the bulk of the tops into 3 inch strips that I could then cut into 3 inch by 3 inch squares. Once you get to the upper back and sleeves, you'll need to cut the squares out one by one. Don't worry too much about the squares being exactly even, just get them close enough.  This takes absolutely forever, I'm sorry!! One you've cut up all of the fabric you'll have a whole pile of little squares. I calculated you...

 The 2021 Bikini Edit Nothing says summer like buying a new bikini! I'm sure if you live somewhere warm, you see Bikinis as a year round item, but in the UK (if you're anything like me) it gets pushed to the back of your closet in September and by the time you fish it out again next June it's time for an update! This year we are definitely seeing trends towards muted colours and textured fabrics - a big move away from the neon love island bikinis we've been seeing over the past few years.  Is it a shirt? Is it a jacket? It's kind of both!  A shacket is an absolute must-have for the British summer. It's light enough to carry with you, but warm enough to throw over your shoulders when the cool evening air comes in.  I got my shacket from Hollister in a size L , and I absolutely love the boxy, oversized fit. The plaid is made just perfect for spring with the feminine pastel colour palette, which makes it fit right into my wardrobe. It comes in a couple of different colour ways, which are all almost to perfect to choose from. It was a very close race between the pink and the yellow, but in the end yellow won out. So far, I've found it a very versatile item that can be thrown over almost any neutral outfit. It's definitely earning its place in my closet!  If you've been spending your lockdown on tiktok like I have, you would have seen some trends for supermarket clothes and kids clothes over the past couple of months.   Buffet Dresses were featured on this year's Sewing Bee as the perfect fashionable way to avoid accentuating those post lockdown lumps and bumps (and in my case surgical dressings) so I thought I would take one for a spin! I was honestly surprised by just how comfortable and flattering this dress was despite being way out of my comfort zone. Being quite petite I usually avoid midi lengths and looser fits but this dress may well have converted me! I felt pretty and stylish for the first time since leaving hospital without feeling uncomfortable or restricted. While the sun was shining, I was more than warm enough but as the night went on it began to get a bit chilly - luckily the pub garden had fur blankets for us to cuddle under.
